    Hi Lewis,

How do you install the Moodle Bar in a Moodle 2.0 theme ?

Thanks for that great input to Moodle.

Ii it possible to add moodlebar to moodle 2.0?

I tried with layouts and config but to no avail. It does not display correctly. Is there any way to make it compatible.?

So you're the guy who built the MoodleBar for Park Lane.

My employers liked it and wanted something similar, so I wrote one from scratch. Strangely enough, it's also called MoodleBar (without a space). It's quite easy to do. Just a div with position: fixed with the content inside.

I'd send you a link, but our Moodle's internal only at the minute.

Just downloaded this to try out on our site tomorrow, will be a nice little extra for users and should slot into our theme nicely. Just the job to help increase user friendliness and ease of navigation, something I've been doing a fair bit of work with as well!

Will pop an email over once our site migration has finished, currently moving to Moodle as our main website \ portal as well as VLE so interesting times ahead...

Thanks Lewis. We have implemented this on our Moodle page and altered the background colour and size of fonts to match our them. Really easy to implement and looks great!

But I have a quick question, if I have set the width to match my page, how do I get it to center on the screen?  I'm being dim but it's sticking fast to the left hand side of the screen.

Thanks again for a great little plugin.

    Hi Dan,

Set the width to match your site then use:

    margin-left: auto

    margin-right: auto

    in the CSS.

This should center it for you.

    My Review of Moodle Bar:

    • Easy to "install"
    • Looks great
    • Kids noticed it right away
    • Easy to modify (I went in an hacked the blog code to point to oublogs which we use instaed of regular blogs).

    Thanks so much!

I installed this morning and I really am enjoying the features. The bar will allow me to delete a few blocks and links, thus cleaning up the site. I added the date to the bar, my students are 8-9 year olds and they always need the date for some reason :)

I can see other ways to enhance the block and will try my hand at it (no idea what I am doing) but it will be fun. One addition that would make things even better is making messages come up above the bar in a box. Like how the search button behaves.
